Lydia’s Song

Within days,
old and new.
Dark memories,
only so few.

The sun sets,
the moon comes along.
Enchanted I am,
I hear Lydia’s song.

Songs of love,
songs of peace.
I look to the dawn,
I look to the East.

Now I lay my head,
no tears I weep.
Singing Lydia’s song,
peacefully I sleep…..

Awwww... this is so sweet. i feel so peaceful . its really a song

Way people you all have real talent here way to go odinson

To One of my Family Member: U're Gonna Give Me A F*king HEART ATTACK AND I SO DAMN YOUNG LITERALLY !

I Am so frustrated
i feel to cry
I cry myself to sleep every night
With a broken heart
These Words That You Said
Always Keep Replaying In My Head
It Hurt So Much
I Feel To Die
I Always Stay Shut And Bottle It Up Inside
Cuz If I Talk
You Shut Me Up
Jus Like everyone around you, you shut them up!
But it's you here that is the target
Make Bachannal and make everyone else have to drag it
To Work, School, It's In Everyone's Head!
You tell us you will never forget stupid incidents until you dead
I find it's shit - You're To Big
Too Big For You to be acting this way
Get to your senses before its too late
You're hurting us all with this hate
So Jus Forget the past and start a clean slate.

There are several things going on in my life these days that is why i hardly on the forum. There are several things going on in my life
Yup i do not lie lol when i say several

for the many flowers I saw out there..........indeed they are beautiful......

SERENITY

Within the dreams of men,
sits the maiden, fair.
In the gardens of hope,
the warrior sees her there.

Enchanted, he was,
so warm her heart, her soul.
Still, her saddened eyes,
emotions, songs foretold.

Wolves howling at the moon,
upon this midnight hour.
Yet, entrancingly beautiful,
Serenity, the moonlit flower……

I HOPE tings go change in d country........and I jus hope

Hope

A hand,
I’m not alone.
A hug,
warmth in the cold.
A kiss,
drys my tears.
A smile,
melts ice, breaks stone.

Lost,
seeking this path.
Fear,
afraid to fall.
Wishes,
to many falling stars.
Dreams,
a sanctuary for my heart.
Hope,
the heavens I stare.
Hope,
a word, a prayer.
Hope,
a day will come.
Hope,
hoping mines would come….

got a lil inspiration wen ah see ah fella gaping at a woman at a very popular place in Trinidad.

City Limits
Heavy stares penetrate layers of clothing.
A wet fragrance stains the air,
And with every footstep closer to there,
Pelau from the last flood takes residence
Within the crevices under your shoe.
Eviction kicks futile,
Forcing adaption and
Conformity into the constantly droning herds.
Walking into a place where no sound but
Bird calls could be heard.

Day...after day,
These walkways become temporary homes for
A large variety of exotic prey.
Day...after day,
Women have to pray either on the maxi,
Or during the walk back from work.
Day...after day
You can't even say that it's a game you play
Because you're frustrated.
Like everything else, you take it, look at it, then shake it off.

"Great is the PNM...
And it seems like forever this place will suffer."
High tech mirrors watch you back
With blank stares,
Yet somehow,
Eyes in the drain wink
And often even wave.
Way more than uncle Panning will ever do.

City Gate,
We loved you but
Somehow we just can't seem to treat you right
City Gate,
Oh how you've become such a stranger at night
City Gate.
People make me wonder if it's just a boxing ring or stage for a fight.
City Gate
I weep for you,

Great is the PNM
And I hope one day,
You won't have to suffer anymore.
City Gate

I think someday I wanna write/put together a compilation of local poetry focusing on different aspects of Trinidad. No matter how gruesome or beautiful they may be. I want this one to be first in that book. Maybe i could name it "Spice" and have a few outside poems/poets in it *wink*.

Yes this was amazing Empireking great poem lol, I was thinging about making a site with only the poems here, yea a book will be great but how are we going about in doing that?

idk.....but as a couple of my lecturers are journalists il try to get sum assistance/advice from them

Great this is a good idea find out and let us know, we would publish it in book stores only if the authors allows trinispice to use their poems

wrote dis one is fuh meh bro....the jester......

The Jester

Yo! Ho! Ho!
The Jester's song.
His laughter,
all around.

Ha! Ha! Ho!
Plays the fool.
There, anywhere,
no man's rule.

Yo! Ho! Ho!
I have seen.
Behind his mask,
his true being.

Ha! Ha! Ho!
Laughs aloud.
Mindful, yet,
very proud.

Yo! Ho! Ho!
Brother, friend.
Forever, and,
never end.

Ha! Ha! Ho!
To and fro.
Singing, dancing,
Yo! Ho! Ho!

Oh kool! from the poem he seems like a happy cheerful guy that brings happiness to everyone..nice one there

Word.
That girl I used to know,
Slowed down to say hello.
Her warm hands on my shoulder,
Cool smile in my face
Caused compulsions to hold her,
But I kept my space.
She knows- I hope she does.
I thought she'd claim what was,
But she moved on... indifferent.
I was left betrayed
By expectations- she went.
I stood- stared- and stayed.

That night I cried a while,
Curled up and infantile.
With one hand on my shoulder,
My heart in the next,
My mind wishing I'd told her,
My soul sour and vexed.
We met again and I
Purposed myself to try,
Steal the hug, kiss, I wanted...
She muttered-paused- spoke-
Softly, to me undaunted..."
more..." Then I woke.

I thought "Dude I'm crazy"
"Do that... She pepper sprays Me!"
A straight jacket, I resolved,
Hands stay in pockets!
The dilemma was solved,
Firmly prayed I stuck it.
She grappled me from behind,
As I once stood in grocery line;
Poked, prodded, straddled- Man handled,
Slip-kissed my lips... berry,
Engulfed me- squeezed, lifted, dandled.
I was overwhelmed... very.

I still think of then till now,
She had felt my need somehow.
I grinned and prayed "God, You. Sick. Bastard"
You let me stand there like a retard!"
She must've heard,
Laying next to me she'd stirred.
Filled with awe with what I saw;
Her pretty pout,
On her little mouth...
Pink tongue peeking out...
My mind went blank... "My word!"
