A man believed to be a serial rapist has struck again in the Point Fortin area, adding two more women to his list of victims.
The attacks, which occurred on Monday, now have police officers at the Point Fortin Police Station busy. Up to late yesterday, police were trying to ascertain whether the man who sexually assaulted the two women is the serial rapist they have been hunting for the past month.
A senior police officer yesterday said they were working assiduously towards capturing the man responsible for the sexual assaults.
"We are dealing with it as fast as we get the information, but when we follow the leads, they are turning up flat," the officer said.
Within the past month, three women operating businesses in the area were attacked by the man between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on all occasions, said police.
The women who were attacked on Monday were also at business places at Frisco Junction, Point Fortin, and the other at Guapo Village.
They were expected to be interviewed by the police yesterday evening, and a sketch artist was expected to create a likeness of the attacker. The police will then determine whether the man is the same one they have been hunting down for the past month.
A sketch of a man they have been hunting has been posted by police in several businesses in the area, but he is yet to be caught.
