Super Strength

Not long after Liam Hoekstra was born, his parents noticed that there was something different abut the boy. At just two days old, Liam was already able to stand with assistance, and by 8 months old he was doing pull-ups and walking up and down stairs. By 3 years old, Liam was lifting up pieces of furniture around the house that some adults would even find difficult, as well as other amazing displays of power. Once during a tantrum as a toddler, Liam?s mother recalls him punching clear through a plaster wall. This power also gave little Liam surprising speed and agility that stunned those around him.

In addition to these early feats of strength, Liam displayed almost no body fat and was rippling with far more muscle than was normal for even active adults, let alone a toddler. His concerned parents had him examined and doctors soon learned that the cause of the boy?s super strength and muscularity was a rare genetic condition known as myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy.

I saw my retired p.e teacher today.



That man could shame any young boy in Trinidad and he is around 70+, buff for days!

I had a co-worker like that....he did shame me on a hike though. lol
 
I tried jogging one time. Made sure I was dressed comfortable, carried a change of clothes in case I got sweaty, carried two bottles of water, took pics when I got to the site to show off to my friend who was stuck in school for an exam. I took off like a boss....10 seconds later I was doubled over gasping for breath feeling totally mash up. I spent the rest of the day walking very slowly and taking pics of the pretty stuff around me lol

This is old news but I just found this out and I think it's amazing: Nina Davuluri won Miss New York and then Miss America 2014 with a Bollywood fusion dance as her talent. It was the first time a Bollywood dance was used as a talent in the competition and she was the first Indian-American Miss America! I think that's so amazing considering how racist a lot of the world still is today, and it was incredibly risky of her but totally paid off being proud of her culture and totally owning it. Of course, the talent wasn't the only judging factor, but I think it was incredibly brave and creative and a history making title well deserved!
