Gosh, I think by now the public is aware of his tactics... Everybody will be glue to the radio and TV awaiting on the date... No more concern to murders, drugs, fraud and corruption...

But come on, the media was moving on anyway. Calder Hart hasn't been in the news for days. At least a general election is coming and its not just a maybe. You guys rather sit here everyday and talk about how the country is going down, or DO something about it...We getting the chance...who cares if it is a tactic or not? Make him regret it!

i agree with you there TFM.. We should all take a stand and be counted... Revel in the fact that in 3 months or less, we dipping we finger again..make it count.. whoever you voting for..

Exactly. We not saying you have to vote against or for anyone. That's your decision. Just vote.

I am confused by this satement..It would take years to dramatically reduce crime in T&T..someone not going to wave a magic wand in one day and stop crime...how long do you believe crime can be dramatically reduced given the proper leadership of your choice ?

Thats true San fernando but why is it that the security minister is saying that crime is reducing is that not redundant?

Because crime can only be quantified in levels and deaths, so in comparison...crime is down. It is at an acceptable level? Hell no. But is it down? The reports say so.

it may just be...but he is saying that after just two/three months of reduction..it could be a good sign but two early for him to get on his high horse..

Crime is an issue that goes to deep. Its too complex to solve in any short period of time... The only way forward is to change the mindset of the people. And to do that is not easy. There are many factors contributing to crime. So if there is indeed some miniscule reduction to crime, I welcome it. Its definitely nothing to sing about, but its a start none the less..

I'm not saying that crime will stop anytime soon or that its easy to curb it. what i'm saying is that the minister boosts about how the kidnap rate and teh crime rate is going down but crime is not committed at a constant rate every day let me draw an example.

Say a murder kills 5 people today he is not expected to kill the same amount the next day or follow any patten it would be random and variable as he may kill any number of people any day any time.

Now take that into consideration to the over all crime aspect in T&T how can they compare last year crime stats to this year's one, if they want to compare over a 3 year period.

This is what gets me so angry because crime is a variable it will change so why is the minister doing like its a frequency

Former Prime Minister Mr Patric Manning suffered the mild stroke (ah blood colt to d brain ) at about 9.45 p.m. and have been taken to hospital by 11 pm....He had chaired a meeting at the constituency office on Monday between 5 and 6.45 p.m. and appeared to be his normal healthy self...At the time he suffered the stroke, he was at home with his wife, former Senator Hazel Manning... He was in a very weakened condition at the time. Doctors are still investigating what would have brought about this...He is currently warded in a stable condition at the Intensive Care Unit...He is being treated by a team of specialist doctors...we at trinispice wish him ah speedy recovery an good health...Mr Manning get well soon!!!

41 years as MP
Manning celebrates on May 24

Former prime minister Patrick Manning, the longest-serving Member of Parliament, marks 41 years in Parliament on May 24.
It was on May 24, 1971, that Manning won the San Fernando East seat in the general election
He overcame obstacles, conquered fear and today has made political history as the longest-serving politician of our time. Although illness knocked on his door, he has refused to answer, showing that he can weather any storm, Manning suffered a stroke in January and has been granted leave of absence till late July from Parliament
