I would like to open up a discussion on this topic. A member of a religious body who was responsible for an attempted coup in 1990 has publicly stated " I am saying if you continue this transgression against us, we will respond appropriately, end of talk,? This comment was made directly to the minister of national security and the head of the northern division task force and this is not perceived as a threat ? While it can be interpreted any way - given the historical norms about this person - should it not be taken seriously ?

Had this statement been made in the USA within 20 minutes this man would be in hand cuffs. Are we this jokey in Trinidad and Tobago ?

Yes we are a jokey country when it relates to this. People have to remember this man and his people who follow him already had a Terrorist and criminal past, he already executed a Coup in 1990 who says he can't do it again. Any threat made by this man or his fraction should never be taken lightly due to this past and if we think that that is not a threat then we are fools.

What i don't understand his how we allow him to walk around this country freely and why is the media even highlighting this man and every comment he has to say about political discussions. This just adds fuel to the power he has over this country, that a man can hold a Coup in 1990 and not in jail or even charged for anything yet and just imagine this case still going on 24 yrs after.

I think that his statement should be taken seriously due to this past actions and even his son should be closely examined as well since he started posting up serious tweets to the government. Why are these Bakrs allowed to do these things.. His son just recently made "Bobolies" of the PM and another Member of Parliament and was beating it right infront there..I'm sure if it was someone else them was done stopped by police or arrested.
