Some people take tattoos for all sorts of reasons e.g fun, memories, remembrance, honouring someone etc. Here is a totally different take on Tattooing. Tattoos can also be used to camouflage scars and burns , even birthmarks using skin tone inks.

It has done alot for women especially who have been victims of abuse or incidents where they were burned/scared. See for yourself and tell me what you guys think

I once heard about this and vaguely remember it. Its an interesting and functional take on something that built around form mainly.

I love tattoos. To me, they are motivating, inspirational momentos that become part of you and can remind you or show others about parts of yourself and things that mean a lot to you. I have one that has kept me going through some pretty dark times and intend to get quite a few more, including a big one to cover some scars from an old but terrible burn. Tattoos are not a spur of the moment drunken decision, though there is a great stigma of such attitudes attached to it.

From my understanding tattoos are associated with a particular type of character. Its usually not a very positive one at that but there are decent people who keep tattoos of meaning. While I wouldn't do it I can see the reasoning behind such.

That's just a negative stereotype IMO. A lot of things are associated with negative characters and are viewed negatively as a result of looking elsewhere instead of focusing on the negative person/personality/actions. I know people with tattoos that have no meaning, they just saw it and liked it, for example, and they are no more different than any other decent hard working person out there. I have however, met many people with criminal behavior that blend in perfectly with society because they fit the standard definitions of "normal" and "acceptable". To each his own I say.

Tattoos mean something different to everyone. Some people see their body as an empty canvas and others see it as a sacred thing.
Long ago i was so biased against tattoos because i grew up with my parents always telling me that tattoos were wrong and forbidden. But as i grew older , i began to understand why people do it and what it means for them.

When the time comes i will maybe get a tattoo of something that means the world to me or something that have impacted on my life in a big way or as a remembrance of someone/thing/ event etc. Something i am sure about definitely because i dont want to regret it when i get older.

It can definitely be more meaningful to some than others and not everyone will understand it. I recently saw a video of breast cancer survivors getting tattoos to cover the scars from their mastectomies and it was so beautiful, and their reactions priceless! For some it can provide a new lease on life.

I would definitely love to see the video. Can you post it here for the Motors members to see as well ?
