A third man has been charged with the murder of Amarnath Bissoon on May 25, 2018.
Adrian ‘Lucky’ Garcia, a 28-year-old labourer, of Madras Road Extension, Cunupia, is also charged with robbery with aggravation.
Bissoon, 39, of St Augustine, was at his home with a relative when persons demanded entry. Upon opening the door, four armed men, said it was a robbery and ordered Bissoon to hand over his jewelry and other valuables.
During the invasion, the victim was shot several times and died at the scene. The intruders then escaped in a white Nissan Tiida.
Garcia was arrested by officers of the Chaguanas Police Station last Thursday.
Last week, Special Reserve Police officer (SRP) Kevon Jack, of Malick, Barataria and Nicholas ‘Nicco’ John, 42, of Kelly Village, Caroni, appeared in court jointly charged with Bissoon’s murder
Teen accused of killing market vendor
The Director of Public Prosecutions has given instructions to the police to charge two more people with the murder of 49- year-old market vendor Radhay Krishna Mahabir.
Akeem Glouden aka ‘Bunji’, ‘Shorto’ and ‘Chucky’, a 23-year-old of Tabaquite Road, Rio Claro and a 17-year-old teenaged boy, of San Fernando, are the latest to be charged.
Another accused, Jimal Arrindell, 26, of Diamond Village, San Fernando, was charged with Mahabir’s murder on June 18, 2018. He appeared before a Rio Claro magistrate the following day.
Mahabir, of Tabaquite Road, Rio Claro, was at his home preparing to go to market around 2 am on June 11, 2018, when he was approached by three men.
The victim fearful for his life, attempted to flee but was shot in the back by his assailants. He died at the scene.
Glouden and the teenager were arrested last week Wednesday after turning themselves in at the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 3 office.
Investigations were supervised by Insp Andrew Lawrence, while PC Colin Gillead laid the charges.
