Post up your reviews of various wiper blades in this thread. Post the brand, model and price of the blade, features and whether you thought it was a good buy or a bad buy.

I'll go first:
I purchased a set of Scrubblade wiper blades yesterday. I was looking for relatively cheap wipers and the store at which I purchased my blades at only seemed to have relative sizes in one brand as the others were scattered in bigger sizes which couldn't fit my vehicle.

The factory recommends 21" and 19" blades for my '08 Hilux but I purchased 22" and 18" Scrubblades which came with a universal adapter. I paid $45 for one wiper, a total of $90 for the two.

However, the universal adapter which came with the new wipers was very hard to figure out since I have never replaced wiper blades before and there weren't any instructions in the packaging. I had to look online at a RainX tutorial and I soon realized that the universal attachment was too small to accommodate my seemingly large "J" hook wiper stalk. I quickly unclipped the adapters from the old blades and attached them to my new blades and they fit without a hitch afterwards.

At the time of purchasing, I had no idea that Scrubblade was a supposedly reputable brand and I later learned that my new "relatively cheap" blades had technology I never even knew wiper blades had. It featured a textured rubber which scrubs the windscreen of hardened dirt and debris easier than the regular blades. It also features a dual blade system where there are 2 rubber blades per wiper. This system essentially allows one blade to scrub the glass and the other to wipe away water.

I must say that I have not had not the ability to try out the "scrubbing" feature but it does wipe away water extremely well! It does a fine job and I truly hope that it will last me at least 6 months in this horrid sun we face.

45$ where you bought it?? saw some for 45 at the home center in south and was wondering if to try them

I bought it at The Price Club in Chaguanas.

I'd say try it if you need replacement cause its nothing amazing although it does a great job wiping water away.

i need a new set of wipers for the navara. Will try next month in Price club since that's the grocery my family goes to.

Yes i have to agree. When i turn them on, it wipes clean but as it wipes back it leaves a trail of water which is defeating the whole purpose lol

Once blades do that significantly its time for replacement. My last set of blades were starting to do it and I figured its $90 or my life. The right blade does leave a very minor trail everytime i use the windscreen washers but thats nothing to be worried about, they do a fine job.

So after living with Scrubblades for 3 months, they have stared to frustrate me as everytime I clean my windshield using the windshield washers and wipers the right side blade leaves a ridiculous amount of water on the windscreen. I manually have to push the wiper stalk about 3 times for it to clear the water after the automatic wiping has finished.

I also experienced this happening during a pretty intense rain fall last weekend. The rain started to fall very heavily, visibility was not good and the right blade kept leaving a trail of water behind on both wipes of the cycle. I am disappointed because they cost more than the cheap Rainbox wiper blades that I had before which lasted more than 6 months before starting to leave trails of water or make any noise.

These scrubblade wiper blades are very unpredictable as they only wipe well after it rains for a considerable amount of time .

Time will tell whether I give another pair a try since the left blade wipes extremely well to this day. I understand there are imperfections in products sometimes and I hope this is the case as I really love how well the left blade still keeps the windscreen clean and clear.

For now, I do not really recommend them and I'm unsure as to whether I will repurchase these again after having what appears to be a poorly wiping right blade.

Update: I have cleaned the blades using a paper towel. It helped a little bit but isn't anything major. Will be recoating the windshield with Rain Clear Gel and cleaning the rubbers with Rubbing alcohol.

However replacement is in order at the 6 month mark. Definitely would not buy Scrubblade again. May go with a set of Valvoline as it works out to be $52 for the set and seems to match the curvature of the windshield a bit better as well on a 2012 Kia Sportage.

Around the 6th of April I replaced the Scrubblades after finally getting fed up of their lack of wiping ability. The replacements were Valvoline Surge 20" and Valvoline Silver 24" as the shop did not have the matching pair in Surge series.

Suffice to say I've gone through a similar time frame with the Valvolines as with the Scrubblades and have had no signs of streaking or any noise. They continue to wipe properly no matter the extent of the rain. So far so good. Will update at the end of the cycle when they do decide to streak.

Yes I did go a few inches above the factory size and thats perfectly fine.

For wiper blades that skip and make a lil noise, put some amoral of the rubber insert part of the blade itself.
Just a 'one pass' application with a sponge does the trick.

If doing what Brotherhood recommends, I'd firstly give the blade a good hard wipe down with a wet tissue or cloth to remove some of the dirt to make it cleaner.

Heard of people applying RainX to their rubbers as it apparently helps them to spread the product without buffing.. Never tried it so dn't quote me if it doesn't work out lol.

Valvoline Surge and Silver blades still going strong after almost 5 months. No streaks, no noise.

So i read up on this bad boy.

Rain-X-5079281-1 Latitude Wiper Blade

Rain.jpg

Why is it the Top Pick on thoroughly reviewed's website?

The Rain-X-5079281-1-Latitude-Wiper-Blade is a top pick because :

1. high quality material and design.
2. The wiper is smooth and grips to the surface of the windshield providing streak free operation.
3. It prevents buildup of both snow and ice by eliminating metal exposure.
4. The blade is made from graphite coated rubber that is specially blended for a longer lasting blade. This provides operations
that do not clatter and are smooth against the window.
5. The rubber is long lasting and flexible enabling it to grip the glass surface. This provides for streak free wiping no matter
what the weather. It will keep your window, and therefore your sight clear in rain, sleet, snow, or other poor driving
conditions.
6. It has 10 different size options ranging from a 16 inch blade to 28 inches. They are available for both driver and passenger
sides, which often require different sizes.
7. Installation is easy and the instructions are simple to follow. The blade comes with a J hook which will fit most vehicles.
There are also adapters such as a large J hook, side pin adapter, bayonet, PTB and I&L wiper blade arms, making it a
universal blade that will fit nearly every make and model vehicle.
8. The rubber is very durable and has a squeegee affect, keeping windows clear in any weather. The shape of the wiper blade
is contoured to fit the curved windshield allowing the blade to grip the window for a tighter fit. This provides even and
continuous pressure to the windshield and eliminates streaking.
9. It also produces better performance at highway speeds.
10. The wiper blades will last longer than traditional, less expensive blades due to the superior construction and contoured
shape.
11. The top quality rubber is made to withstand the elements. Harsh winters and hot summers will no longer leave you with cracked windshield wipers that must be replaced each season.
12. The blade is built to reduce noise and wind lift through its built in spoiler that is also aerodynamic.
13. Another benefit is that it is reversible. You can remove the blade, turn it around and use it again on the same side of the vehicle. This gives you longer wear for your money. You will also receive adapters which will enable you to use the Rain X Latitude wipers on virtually every vehicle.
14. Customers love that it last longer than most blades on the market saving them money and hassle of constantly having to change blades every season.

You know I'm happy you mentioned that, the Weather Beater series is also a top pick and can be had locally for a good price. When the Valvoline wears out I'll give a pair of Weather B or Latitude a try.
Where do we get Latitudes locally?

Anyone familiar with the Silicone wipers?

My brother bought one at a auto place in Charlieville. i forgot to ask him the name but they are selling them in abundance down here. Or we can just bring it down over amazon :D
