There is a post made on this forum about Secretary General of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha Satnarayan Maharaj says attention should be paid to teenage pregnancies rather than teen marriages.

Now this statement was made by leader of the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO), Brother Harrypersad Maharaj, who said age did not determine maturity. and that the State should not interfere with the Marriage Act of Trinidad and Tobago, which allows a child as young as 12 years old to marry.

FIRST THING FIRST - Are they high on weed or have nuts for brains?

1. Notice these statements were made by old male archaic dinasours who have long past their prime.
2. At 12 Years old a female or male is not capable of being mature
to make decisions like those and note our statuary rape age is under 16 years of age. Please read here on
why in the first place there is a statuary rape law https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statutory_rape
3. Please also note this country is not religiously run or has no religious laws such as Saudi Arabia for example.
4. These laws need to change because how is it right in anyway for children to get married legally in a
religious ceremony and have sexual intercourse, but unmarried teens/adults get charged for rape. That's
using religion to mask what is really happening !
5. No where in first world countries or most countries can children be legally married except for a few. How is
a child making a child right in this world!

People like Harrypersad should get his grand children married at that age and let them bear children and see the reality of the situation. I don't care if that used to happen in the long time cane days, this is the real modern times now. These people should step down and let our educated youths run this nation

Mr Sat Maharaj we are not allowing our daughters to be married at the age of 10-12 years old. Your Laws are absurd an need reviewing

i think that they they should step down as all the religious bodies are coming forward to take a stand to raise the marriage age to 18. We do not need these backward people holding us down. Time to let the youths take over and run this country
