The Wichita State University senior returned a time of 34 minutes, 39.56 seconds

Kelly-Ann Baptiste was honoured on Wednesday evening by the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA)..at the Hyatt Regency Port of Spain..she won the 2011 World Championship women's 100 metres bronze medal...Baptiste became only the 2nd female athlete from Trinidad and Tobago to secure precious metal at a major senior global meet, following in the strides of 2009 World Championship 400m hurdles bronze medalist, Josanne Lucas. Baptiste is the first female sprinter from this country to achieve the feat..The Tobago sprinter lead a young team of sprinters—22-year-old Semoy Hackett and 19-year-olds Kai Selvon and Michelle-Lee Ahye—to 4th spot in the 4x100m relay final.

on Mar 5, 2012 Runako Morton, the West Indies batsman, has died in a road accident on Sunday, police have confirmed Morton, 33, crashed into a utility pole on the Solomon Hochoy Highway in Chase Village in central Trinidad...in Mar 18 2011 Morton and Leeward Islands allrounder Tonito Willett have pleaded not guilty after they were arrested for possession of Marijuana on March 11...in Mar 16, 2011: WIPA pays bail an he was released on bail for providing legal assistance to the two players...May 16, 2009: Runako Morton has been called into West Indies' one-day squad as a replacement for Dale Richards who was forced home with a shoulder injury before the second Test...RIP Runako Morton!!!

The First Olympic medalist for Trinidad and Tobago....Rodney Wilkes!!!
Rodney Adolphus Wilkes born 8 March 1925 is a former weightlifter from Trinidad and Tobago...Nicknamed "The Mighty Midget" he was the first Trinidad competitor to win an Olympic medal and remained relatively unknown outside of local competition until he won the gold medal at the 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia. His performance included record lifts of 205 pounds (93 kg) in the press, 210 pounds (95 kg) in the snatch and 275 pounds (125 kg) in the clean and jerk..in London 1948 he won a silver meda...the "mighty midget" retired from athletics in 1960 and worked as an electrician in San Fernando..wit a gold, silver an bronze medals.....ah want to know why d ministry don't pay tribute to him before he passes on...he is forgotten now....plz don't let our heroes die without proper recognition!!!
 
Former Barbados captain and West Indies player, Ryan O’Neale Hinds appeared in court yesterday on rape charges.
Hinds, 31, of Holders Hill, St. James, who’s accused of raping a 28-year-old woman last month was given on BDS$7,500 bail with surety.
As a condition of bail, Hinds was also ordered to surrender his passport and ordered to report to the Holetown Police Station once a week

he is the youngest-ever Olympic champion in javelin throw and the second non-European to ever win the Olympic gold in men's javelin throw since Cy Young in Helsinki in 1952...His throw was a new North, Central American and Caribbean Junior record...

Keshorn Walcott was born in the scenic place of Toco, located in the beautiful land of Trinidad & Tobago. At the age of 15 years, Keshorn Walcott with passion for sport, started to participate in track and field. After his attempt at various events proved unsuccessful Keshorn moved to the javelin. From here on in only success followed his path. His numerous wins both at the local, national and regional competitions proved that Keshorn will be one of our future stars to watch in this event....

Keshorn Walcott was promised a check for about $155,000, a luxury home and roughly 20,000 square feet of land near his hometown...a lighthouse and a Caribbean Airlines plane will be named after the 19-year-old javelin champion... a national holiday in honor of Walcott, who won the Olympic javelin title with a throw of 277 feet, 6 inches....
 
GEORGE BOVELL III...Trinidad and Tobago’s veteran swimmer....returned home yesterday from capturing 16 medals in the FINA/Arena World Cup — 7 gold and 9 silver...The 29-year-old admitted that he will have no time for rest, as he will be in the gym at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo today and, “in the next few weeks, I’ll be looking to return home with a gold medal.”...Bovell also highlighted the fact that he had to seek visas, on his own, to enter Russia and China to compete at the respective World Cup meets but felt proud that his efforts did not go to waste. He also made a plea for corporate Trinidad and Tobago to support sport. “I do not have a sponsor from Trinidad and Tobago and it will be nice to have corporate TT supporting the sportsmen, such as Keshorn Walcott, Marc Burns, Njisane Phillip and others,” he said....

Running into a 0.6 metres per second headwind, the Trinidad and Tobago sprinter stopped the clock at 10.02 seconds, getting home ahead of Frenchman Jimmy Vicaut, the runner-up in 10.04, Great Britain’s Adam Gemili (10.11) and former world champion Kim Collins (10.13) of St Kitts and Nevis.
