This cold rainy/stormy weather is perfect for scary stories *wicked laugh*. What's the freakiest thing that ever happened to you or someone you know? What's your best everyday life scary story? Supernatural scary story? Urban legend scary story? It doesn't have to be real, but bonus points if it is! I'll start things off with two (true stories).:fear:
1.
When my youngest brother was just over a year old, my family and some relatives went to the beach. In all, there were about 3 adults and 5 kids. We all stayed very close together, building sandcastles and digging holes right by the shore in an active but not too crowded part of the beach. Suddenly we noticed my brother was missing. We quickly spread out in a panic calling and asking for help from others there as we realized he was nowhere to be found. Just as my uncle was heading to his van to drive to the police station, I saw a woman standing in front of the open doorway of a white panel van with dark tinted windows, idling on the sand just past the road, holding a small child by the hand (I didn't have my glasses on to see clearly). I ran up and saw that it was my brother, called him and he started shrieking and ran to me. The people inside quickly closed the door, turned around and drove off, no license plates. The woman said she was just about to bring him to us to see if he was ours but I thought otherwise. I shouted for my mom that I found him and the rest of my family came running. When I turned around, the woman was gone. I was terrified out of my mind because we were extremely close and I became extra protective of him after that and we were all pretty sure it very nearly ended up being a kidnapping. (About a year later my dad was almost kidnapped as well)
2.
My dad's house was supposedly haunted. Lights shut off and turned on, doors slammed shut and reopened repeatedly throughout the night, keeping me from sleeping first from getting up to turn off the lights and close the doors etc and later on from leaving it be, but the annoyance of the noise etc. My kid brother would claim to see me walk through his room and describe exactly what I was wearing when I had been watching TV with the rest of the family downstairs the whole time. While cleaning my parents' room one day I once found my mom paralyzed on the bed as she watched TV, with tears leaking out of her eyes and barely audible squeaks escaping her lips as she reached for her mantra beads. I gave them to her, asked her what was wrong, and tried to shake her but for some reason I could not budge her one bit and she remained soundless and motionless. I lit some incense around the room and started to call my dad and she gasped for breath and sat upright, sobbing about how she felt like she was being crushed to death and choked at the same time. Some years later my dad had a girlfriend come over and found her on the stairs in the middle of the night sobbing hysterically about doors opening and slamming on their own and feeling like something tried to push her out of the bed. We never said a word to her about anything before. The closest explanation we ever got was that the previous owner of the house committed suicide there, and it was possibly haunted. A spiritual person once met my dad at an event at his friend's house (first time meeting) and warned him that a beautiful but possessive female spirit lived in his house, hugged him at night, and was very jealous and willing to harm anyone that posed a threat to keeping him from her. He now lives alone and has never reported any weird problems in the house since.
