So I got new tyres a week ago, as during my alignment, the guy pointed out to me that my rear right rim was bent. Could see the wobble as he spun the wheel.

I am now thinking, repair or replace?

Rims are some silver alloys that came with the car that I was planning to plastidip, but I hear the cost of repair is as much as the cost of replacing.

I not a rims person per say, so I not spending more than $2000 - $2500 where possible on 15". 17s not practical for me cause of my driving style.

So my questions:
#1.Who does rim repair?

#2. If you think a new set of rims is better, where to buy? (car is a stock silver Wingroad.) I may head by RaceTrac Wheels in Bon Air, where I got tyres.

i'm no rim expert but it depends on what your rim is made of. if its chrome don't even bother spending money to fix as the metal is too soft. alloys are much stronger (mag rims and original rims) and take quite a hit before bending. my advice is to go to a rim repair shop such as mag wheel centre and ask them about the process of straightening the rim. i still think a bent rim is better than a cracked one though, and i wouldn't even bother repairing a cracked rim by welding. i'd bite the bullet and buy either a set or a steelie to replace it.

Well I ultimately went and got new rims.

I went to a rim repair shop in aranguez and check out the cost of repair. On initial inspection the rim looked fine. Then he put it on his balancer.....

Damned rim was HOPPING bad. This video give you an idea of how it was (it was milder than in video, but still bad). Most likely I been driving the car with the rim like that since I got it 5 years ago!

Immediately swung by Andy's in Arouca (Race Trac Wheels) and popped on a new set for $2000.

Now i just have to figure what I gonna do with the old rims...

Replacing a default rim is better than to repairs as we all know about it.So better for you to replace your rims with new rims for a better output.

Yeah definitely i will sale the old rims because its not good for my cars.So i will sale it on a manageable price.
