Health care in Trinidad and Tobago? Seems Like No One Cares ! There were alot of political parties in the past who promised us about developing the health care system and i quote that the previous PNM Health Minister said that we have one of the best health care system in the Caribbean but when other ministers get sick they are either seeking help Privately or In Other Caribbean and foreign country states such as Cuba, Canada and Florida- USA.
But that's not where we're focusing on , No! The Current People's Party presently are making promises and not keeping to their word . There were even instances recently at the Mt Hope Hospital where patients were being sent home due to Operating Rooms being reserved for Emergency Patients ..Why is that?
Instead of hosting big events and building unnecessary structures , how about fixing one of the main things that have been an issue for many years OUR PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM!
Our people have been protesting about this and our cries are being unheard ..or maybe heard but ignored. Why aren't there more departments and studies being opened up in UWI OR UTT Offering forensics and other widely arranged medical fields. If you do this then we won't have to pay a large amount of money to hire foreign doctors to do things we're simply lazy to put into place. eg. blood samples of Stacy Ramdeen were sent to the US to determine the rightful cause of her death. Why can't we do that here ?
What about stop focusing on developing the already developed areas and build hospitals or medical facilities atleast where people of rural areas would not have to drive so far to get help. Come on government we know you have alot of plans but put them into actions , you are disappointing us with those long waiting hours , short staffed nurses and doctors only to be sent home ..and even if we get through there are no beds..
Have a heart and put yourselves in our position. Some of us don't have the riches , but we do pay TAX! SO GIVE US WHAT WE RIGHTFULLY DESERVE AND MAYBE WITH PROPER CARE , HEALTH AND ATTENTION, WE WOULDN'T HAVE SO MANY MEDICAL MISTAKES , WRONGFUL DIAGNOSIS AND HAVE TO BE SENT TO OTHER COUNTRIES !
