Oyster sauce is now $5 a single shot, $10 a double. Compared to the $3/$6 long ago, the glasses are now so small that the $10 for a double is actually a little less that what you used to pay $3 for.

Lunches (rice, roti) are average $22-$38 dollars now depending on where you go. I find most places skimp on the meat though, and go heavy on the starch. (I need my protein! lol)

Oh it is getting smaller as the dollar increases. I shy away from doubles as of late. I cannot handle that.

I don't like doubles so I just avoid completely lol I could make my own stuff instead of buying these miniature germ vehicles.

I remember when I used to go to primary school I used to pay $1 for a single barrah doubles, it was fulling too. Used to get half of cheese pie for .75cents too. Good times. I recently went around the savannah at night for some food.. $35 for a box of BBQ and I need 2 to full me.. Learning to cook by force.

Since Lorenzo post those pictures on the Food Lover's Thread I've been craving chow like mad. I was telling someone about buying $1 and $2 bags of mango chow and soak pommecythere when I was in school for 1-2 mango or 2-3 pommecythere. I was told it's now $2 for a few slices!

A box of $35 BBQ is still very filling depending on where you buy it. To be honest, I prefer to pay the $35 for the BBQ than to spend $20 for chinese food. I just feel like Chinese isn't prepared in the greatest of conditions.

A $20 box of Chinese is not enough to full my belly at all. A $35 box of BBQ can be satisfying depending on the source, sometimes it's not enough though. My issue with Chinese food is not knowing all the ingredients going into each meal which is necessary for me due to health concerns. At least at the BBQ places I can meet and talk with the people preparing my food and find out what is safe and what I should avoid.

I like more protein and veggies so when I see anywhere filling a box to the top with rice and other starches and skimping on the rest it's a big turn off for me and not my money's worth no matter how good the price.

And all this talk about chicken roti have me craving one now lol
