So far, no one has signalled any intention to challenge Dr Keith Rowley for the leadership of the People’s National Movement (PNM), Finance Minister Colm Imbert has said.

However, if anyone is so inclined there is still time to make a decision.

Imbert made the statements following the PNM’s general council meeting at Balisier House, Port-of-Spain, yesterday, as he discussed plans for the September 16 internal election.

All executive positions are open to contest at the internal election, he said. Nominations are to be filed between August 13-17.

As the party prepares for its internal elections, the PNM will also be doing a post-mortem on the two by-elections held last Monday.

The PNM retained the Belmont East electoral district while it lost the Barataria electoral district. (See Pages A10 & A11)
