A 93-year-old man was found murdered in his Diamond Vale, Diego Martin yesterday.According to a police report, Leo Bousigard, who lived alone, was found tied up and gagged by a caretaker who went to his Citrine Drive home around noon to check on him. Police said Bousigard was found dead in a bedroom with a t-shirt wrapped around the neck. His house was also ransacked.A party of officers, including Snr Supt Sankar and Sgt Straker, visited the scene and are heading the investigations. The T&T Guardian was told Bousigard was seen by neighbours in the porch of the house around 9 am. Police believe he may have been killed during a house invasion, but up to press time investigating officers were still trying ascertaining what was stolen from the house, if anything at all.A resident told the T&T Guardian this incident had “shaken up the quiet residential area.”

“We don’t usually hear about these kinds of things happening in the area. Maybe a little house break-in or you might hear or see strangers walking among the streets or strange vehicles passing but not so terrifying one time. If this old man was really killed in a robbery and his killers out there still we all will have to be worried. It’s just an awful thought,” the resident said.An autopsy is expected to be performed today at the Forensic Science Centre.
