Four men are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today charged with breaking into the San Fernando Church of the Nazarene.

The suspects were arrested by officers of the Mon Repos, shortly after the alleged incident.

Officers of the Fraud Squad were conducting enquiries in the San Fernando area around 11.30 am when they observed a group of men descending the staircase of the church with electronic items.

The items were then loaded into a white Nissan Wingroad, parked along Circular Road.

The officers then observed a hole in the western side of the church and subsequently arrested the suspects and took them to the San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning.

The items were later identified as the property of the church, leading to the men being charged with the offence of sacrilege.

All items were recovered.

Investigations were supervised by Cpl Roger Nanan and charges were laid by PC Amir Ali, both attached to the Mon Repos CID.
