A father and son chopped each other with a hatchet during an argument which, according to police, was fuelled by alcohol at their Longdenville home on Saturday night.
However, police say they seemed to have “patched up things.”
According to a report, around 11 pm the 54-year-old father and his son, 30, were drinking alcohol in the yard of their home when they broke out in the argument.
The son walked away and then returned with a hatchet. He began to chop the father. While struggling with his son, the father took the hatchet from his son and chopped him.
Neighbours subsequently parted the fight.
The father received injuries to his head and face while his son was injured on his shoulders.
The father and son were treated at the medical health facility and discharged. They both returned to their home.
Officers of the Longdenville Police Post are investigating.
