Admin its true they're not kiddin. When you're depressed and have some form of obsessive compulsive disorder everything and anything becomes a ritual. So stuff like watching naruto, drawing, singing, visiting forums lol, listening to cds, staying up late- becomes a ritual. That means is you dont do it you just CANT FUNCTION. Basically without the pattern or routine live is hell, unfortunately though people ritualise not so good things like, self mutilation, drinking, smoking, watching porn, eating junk food. These things help distract from the deep numbness but indulgence in them are just symptoms of another disorder. Self mutilation helps release the built up tension from the stress during the day. Especially when you have self concept issues self destructive tendencies tend to manifest themselves in rituals like self mutilation. Its some kinda therapy lol.
Of course some people are gay and retarded and just do it to fit into the rock subculture. Maybe they think its expected of them. how lame. Most of my friends used to do it, wear it like some kinda badge, but they really had issues and they knew it. They weren't the kind to do it for cred or sympathy, if i started doing it I'd be fake.
