Marisa Rambharose 42 years was knocked down and killed on saturday 18th as she attempted to cross the Solomon Hochoy Highway to return home....she droped out of a taxi along the north-bound lane near the Forres Park landfill around 6.30 pm....she was taking dinner to her sons—Sanjay 19 and Sampson 7 when a passing car struck her hand causing the plastic bag with the food to fall on the roadway.....she bent over to pick up the boxes of food when another car slammed into her....She was dragged 162 feet before the driver stopped....she died on the spot...her husband died last year of illness...now the 4 kids are left alone in this world...this is very sad...
Very sad.. These people are risking their lives everyday to cross the highway especially those who live in the squatter village of the south area. I wish sometimes that there are proper measures put in place to help these people cross. Yes we know they should not be crossing the highway, but they are poor and have no where else to live sometimes and maybe no extra passage to drop make the entire route and stop on the other side. May she R.I.P
wow that is soo sad to hear! 4 kids left alone to fend, wow i cant imagine loosing my mother, she means the world to me! such a way to go out, dragged 162 feet before the driver stopped? what kind of speed that person was going with before he/she realised to slam brakes? or atleast swerve out of the way? this is just depressing to think about, you never know when youre going to go!
