One of 2 floating bodies identified

One of the two bodies found floating in the Gulf of Paria at the back of MovieTowne, Invaders Bay, on Monday morning has been identified.
Sources told the Express late yesterday that investigators were able to identify one of the men as Anderson Martin from Mentor Alley, Laventille, as well as Sam Boucaud, Santa Cruz, after running his fingerprints through the police system.
Investigators say Martin had a string of convictions for various crimes and spent long periods in jail.
Post-mortems have not yet been performed on the bodies.
The other body remained unidentified up to last night.
Sources disclosed two persons had visited the Forensic Science Centre in St James to view the bodies but were unable to identify either of the deceased men.
Anyone with information is asked to contact 999, 555 or 800-TIPS.
Western Division Police said they received the first report of a body seen near the coast, in the vicinity of the container examination section at the Port of Port of Spain around 7 a.m. on Monday.
This body was retrieved using a rope and left on shore where it was examined by crime scene investigators, before a District Medical Officer (DMO) ordered its removal to the Forensic Science Centre.
While officers were on this scene, they received information of another body, this time found on the coastline behind the mangrove in the vicinity of BHP Billiton Trinidad.
Investigators have said both bodies were bloated and it was too early to say if foul play was involved.
