Police will be eagerly awaiting the result from the autopsy on 44-day-old Javon Mahabir at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, today.

Mahabir was found unresponsive by his parents on Saturday.

Police reported that his mother Wendy Mahabir, 35, of Nurse Street, Newlands, Guayaguayare, reportedly put him to bed on Friday night and reported nothing untoward during the course of the day.

However, around 4 am on Saturday, Mahabir found him unresponsive in his crib, with fluid coming from his nose and mouth.

A report was made to the Mayaro Police Station and officers accompanied the parents to their home. District Medical officer Dr Uliem viewed the body and ordered its removal to Sangre Grande Mortuary, where it was then transferred to the FSC.

Police believe the child died from natural causes as they observed no marks of violence on his body but will await the autopsy.

PC Bachoo of Mayaro Police Station is continuing investigation.
